Pros

Very fast paced culture that allows you to learn many things quickly. Training? No such thing. You learn as you go along and you'd better have thick skin as you quickly find your way. Prove your worth fast or don't let the door hit you on the way out! Good compensation; above average bonuses (as long as you "hit your numbers" for the year); decent benefits as well.

Cons

Long days with longer hours. Kiss your social life goodbye because you will be expected to spend nearly every waking hour driving the business. If you're not someone who can run in fifth gear all the time, you'll burn out quickly. Being a workaholic is a prerequisite here. You'd better like to travel too because if you want to move up at RB you must be willing to relocate internationally. If not, nice knowing ya. The open work environment is a complete debacle. No offices (except of course for those at the top of the totem pole), no walls, no personal space, just rows and rows of adjoined desks as far as the eye can see.

Pros

Good Salary and benefits You can move up through the company very quickly International mobility Some good people...who are very bright, just overworked and sad all the time

Cons

Sr. Mgmt doesn't care about your personal life Everything is in the open...no closed cubes or offices...people are constantly in your business Nothing makes sense and everything is a dog and pony show...The only thing that makes a difference is the equity of the brands If you are not part of the Sr. Mgmt club, forget about longevity Pointless meetings all the time ABSOLUTELY no training....you are EXPECTED to know what you are doing Forget about your social life, working out, family...your life WILL be dedicated to Reckitt...Trust me!!! Horrible commute...anywhere in NJ and I feel bad for those folks that live in the city. They are dedicated to Reckitt 6am to 9pm with commute. Nobody really wants to help you, they are just in it for their own reputation Not thought of as a good work environment by any CPG company...There is a reason!

Professionally Unprofessional

Pros

The company on the whole offers some very solid benefits and is a leading product developer. If you're just starting out there's a lot of opportunity for entry level positions. If this is your first company out of school it will ingrain a solid level of professionalism and careerism.

Cons

Despite the amazing benefits that are offered by Reckitt they are not readily accessible to the people within the company. One individual I worked with required medical leave and was told they better not take it. The unfortunate nature of their medical concerns hindered their ability to work and function with activities of daily living. I know of individuals within the company that were a part of a military reserve or guard unit and were told that their job with Reckitt took precedence over matters of national security and responses. Management had been informed of the legality of such requests to the best of my knowledge, and it appeared that these individuals were still being neglected. The expectation is that this job is the priority. Do not expect flexibility or a respect for your time or needs. If you live to work this environment is for you.
