Pros

Subsidized lunches Unlimited vacation Week between Christmas and new years is a holiday for all employees

Cons

Pay is significantly lower than other software companies in Charlotte for the same work Perks like the bowling alley/tennis/basketball courts go unused because everyone is overworked Mostly college hires and young adults so the turnover is high. Most people leave in under two years All timelines they make for engineers are arbitrary but are not treated like such. A lot of people work 9-7 to get all the work demanded done and there is no real work life balance. Good number of people do the "boomerang". Work there for a year or so then leave and come back for more pay.

Pros

The subsidized lunches are amazing and most of the people in lower level roles are phenomenal.

Cons

From the first day I started at RV, I knew that I could be disposed of at any given moment for any reason. After four years, that day - as for all employees at RV, finally came. I worked in constant fear for my Job. The company trip and amazing pay of yesterday are no more. Not even for managers (which I was).

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at RV. We’re very sorry to hear such a negative outlook and experience, because we take job security and stability for our employees very seriously. While we strive to create an environment where all current employees – especially managers – feel comfortable voicing concerns and feedback, we understand that we still have work to do. Recently, we launched several new leadership initiatives within our sales center to continue improving in areas where we’ve received feedback, specifically around career growth and consistency as you’ve outlined here. Lastly, while you are correct - the days of the company trip are over (it’s just not feasible anymore with 3,800 employees!) – we’ve replaced it with Culture FEST, an annual company-wide tradition where we bring A-list entertainment right to our headquarters in Charlotte. This event is more inclusive and accessible than a trip, enabling more employees to participate. Again, we appreciate your review and have shared it with our leadership team. Our hope is to continue fostering an environment where current employees feel empowered to share feedback and help us get better every day.

Pros

All the kuereg coffee and tea you can stand! Sure there's good food, a bowling alley, and a basketball court, but....

Cons

...you'll never get to use those perks unless you literally live on campus (not an option BTW) If you have an actual life outside of RV you're not going to want to be there early to use the perks and THEN work a 9 hour shift. You can forget it. You'll interview in the state of the art building but let's be clear, that's NOT where you'll be working. You'll actually be in tighter, busier, less pretty environment with the all the people who are actually making the company its millions. Your managers will live listen to your calls all day long and pull you off the phones for coaching. Its like they have to fill a quota or something. That's annoying. I was fired for slamming a sale which is how I was trained but they won't admit that part. As long as your making them money by any means necessary, its OK. But the moment your sales drop, they find a way to get rid of you. They are constantly hiring people because once your 90 days kick in they have to pay your insurance and I believe that's a part of the trimming process too. No one is safe. 90% of senior leadership and non-sales positions are filled by Caucasians. Your chances of being anything outside of a team lead are slim to none.
