If I Could Give This Company NO Stars.....

Pros

Salary. Even though they start people in at whatever they want within reason.. The counter and negotiate pay. They under pay the people that busy their cheeks and over pay the people that do nothing. But all in all.. The pay is the only thing I would say is a "pro" however, this is transportation.. Other companies will pay around what they do as well.. Just have to find them.

Cons

Where should I even start? I was lied to from the beginning. I was told that the environment and culture was a fantastic family feel.. Well that's only true if you a zoo animal. Its a total "boys club" The management and associates are TOTALLY absurd. The business ethics of this company and the "people" the hire will be the reason the company doesn't stay in business for long. Half these reviews on here were PAID for.. Literally laid the employees to write them. Favoritism is HUGE here, as well as sexisim. The age range is anywhere from 18-30 and the environment is nothing short of cuss words, overly loud music and NO sense of professionalism what so ever. The managers do whatever they want, talk to people however they want, and leave work for hours during the day for "personal" matters. Point blank is they are fairly new with opening their branches and already the have empty offices. The only people who stay are those without a sense of morals, values and responsibilities. The good quit and the crap stays. They treat carriers, drivers and customers like crap. Literally the worst company and group of people for that matter, that I have EVER been around.

Redwood Logistics Response

Thank you for your review. While we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your experience at Redwood, we wish we would’ve had the chance to discuss while you were here. We value our relationships with employees, customers and carriers, many of which we are proud to say have worked with us for all of the 14 years we’ve been in business. While change is a part of Redwood’s growth and expansion, we have always encouraged our employees to provide their honest feedback through the Open Door Policy. Much of our continued success has been driven by innovation and ideas from employees at all levels and at all of our locations.

Pros

Casual environment. Fun, young group of colleagues.

Cons

Long hour days that can be quite stressful. No flexibility; lots of micro-managing goes on here. Days start early and most people work through lunch at their desks. Salary starts very low but can improve with a full commitment to work 10-11 hour days every day + being available 24 hours/day. Benefits and vacation are mediocre. Frat house type environment and volume level, which seems fun at first.. If you work here, it takes several (3+) years to be considered for a 'management' roll (if you befriend the right people). This position is not something to be envious of and the the ceiling is low. This is a good first job for a college graduate but no one makes it past lower management. Basically you have to work very hard and work long hours to earn a decent wage. Employees are responsible for dealing with issues after hours and on weekends. Every decision that's made has to be approved by a superior, thus fostering an environment in which flexibility is very minimal. This applies to lunch breaks, when you can go home, how long you can step away from your desk, etc.. Make no mistake, this is a high stress environment that is not suited for everyone.
