Pros

Enjoyed working with some of the resident managers and other departments like Finance and Accounts payable.

Cons

HR truly DOES NOT care about employees, they do not dedicate time to employees and attempt to fire employees before there are Unionized. I should know, I worked in HR! Talented HR that care about their employees will not stay at this company - they know their worth. Expect to work long hours and weekends whether corporate or non-corporate position. No Life Balance!

I interned at Related over the summer of 2017, and part-time while I finished my undergraduate degree close-by. The Summer Internship Program was a great introduction to the company and culture of real estate development in New York City. Throughout the program, the intern class was highly engaged professionally, intellectually, and even socially. A series of individual upper-level executives across all facets of the company- including the CEO and the Founder/Chairman of the company- met with the interns through the Executive Speaker Series to deliver presentations, field questions, and engage in an open dialogue; this feature was the most invaluable professional experience I can imagine. The Internship Coordinator organized numerous events inside and outside of work and was always available to answer questions, listen to concerns, and give actionable advice. Some of my best friends were made that summer and I still talk to them weekly despite being in cities all over the country. I am now a full-time employee and can say that the education and mentoring and support and challenges I have received from my Managers and all those surrounding me is providing me the tools I need to succeed.

Cons

New York is really hot in the summer, especially in a suit and tie. The technology support group takes a while to respond and take action.
