Pros

Ascension's mantra of 'culture first' really sets the agency apart from others. As an agent, I experience a team approach and cohesive environment where the production and support staff work in tandem to the mutual success of all. The firm has consistently met objectives both from a sales and financial perspective. The momentum Ascension is experiencing has long-term implications and will continue to position its agents and staff nicely for years to come. Some other Pro's are: 1) Transparency of management, 2) Flexibility and creativity, 3) Investment in resources, 4) Boutique size and 5) Niche expertise.

Cons

I don't have any current cons... the company has been through a lot since it's founding, but Ascension is at the height of its game in 2016; and the trajectory is up and up! The cons of OTHER 'ABC house' agencies (not naming names) seem to be all the same: rigidity, no culture, everyone's a #, no appreciation and ivory tower management. Not so at Ascension - I think we're a breath of fresh air amongst the stuffy 'suits' our industry has been so accustomed to for many years.

Pros

Outstanding leadership, flexibility and culture. Corporate is refreshingly accessible and transparent. Ascension does a great job rewarding and acknowledging the contributions of all employees not just the sales staff.

Cons

Individual business units are very segregated and have different procedures. Steps are being taken to standardize procedures between units and I am optimistic this 'con' will resolve in the very short term.

Thanks! We've been working hard to be a more integrated company overall. We’ve made lot of progress, and there is more (exciting stuff) to come. Stay tuned!

Pros

Innovative company, committed to training and development. Wonderful P&C and collegiate divisions.

Cons

Benefits management in the Walnut Creek office is sub par, reactive, and spread too thin.

Thanks for your review. A response, from our President, Ed Page: The transformation of our Walnut Creek office benefits practice has been remarkable. 3 years ago it was struggling under poor management. After Keri Lopez was named president it has undergone an incredible turnaround. Client service and resources have never been better, we are seeing some of the best retention rates in our history, and have had quite a series of new business wins. The current trajectory of the office is excellent and we are thrilled with the current direction. Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further. Best, Ed
