Pros

The team building exercises, benefits, and upper management actually seems to listen to concerns of front line personnel.

Cons

The review system for performance doesn't make sense. No need to have ratings on the scale if they're unattainable.

It really is as bad as everybody says

Pros

Decent option if you are a recent college grad and fit into one of the stereotypical archetypes - pretty 20-something yuppie HR girl from Lincoln Park, pretty 20-something hipster marketing girl from Wicker Park, 20-something gamer geek in development, 30-something overgrown hipster in sales, etc.

Cons

I think I will just pile on to what everybody else is saying about the place. It's all true. The creepy pseudo-religious values stuff, the cult-like following, the 80s-style groupthink, the wannabe Apple vibe that clearly fails when you compare Apple's glassdoor score. People aren't exaggerating. It really is that weird here. Either you find your calling here with people who look, think and act just like you, or you lose your mind and leave after a year. I will just add this. You know you're in the wrong place when your boss criticizes you for standing and using the bathroom stall instead of the urinal. It's apparently anti-social? The day that my bathroom preferences become my boss's business is the day it's time to update my resume!

Pros

* The place is chock full of intelligent, passionate people who care about doing a good job. * Great environment for motivated problem-solvers: if you see something that wants fixing, you can take a shot at fixing it. There's no punishment for good ideas that don't pan out, which supports initiative and innovation. * The company is growing very quickly. The CEO is cognizant that a larger company requires different strategies and is actively trying to figure out what changes are needed. * Excellent advancement opportunities for early-career developers and analysts. Product Development on-boarding is extensive and positions new employees for success. * I'm a female manager and don't feel my gender has been any detriment (or advantage) to my success here. I haven't experienced the "Old Boys' Club" as described by other posters, so it may be department-specific. * The pay scale, training opportunities, retirement benefits, and PTO are on the high end. * Seriously, GREAT PEOPLE. The vast majority are smart, cool, upbeat, optimistic, friendly, and engaging.

Cons

* There are a few individuals who are not well suited for their current positions and cause disproportionate issues and frustration. * Development direction and priorities change frequently and often without insight into the reasoning behind the change. * Teams are often expected to start development work on major projects before high-level planning is complete or the product vision is clearly defined.
