Pros

* Great vision set by C-suite * Great engineers at the ground level

Cons

* Company culture is changing for the bad. Low level employees ( engineers and managers) doesn't have voice anymore. Most new openings are going to Poland and other low-cost locations in Europe. And career progression is going to be slow as a result. * The directions set by CEO and CTO is very different from how it is implemented in action. So much emphasis to make sure the team doesn't show up on Weekly review meeting at the expense of hiding or telling a half truthful story to CTO. * Middle management sucks. They are more happy to please the upper management at the expense of throwing engineers and lower- level managers under the bus. * Middle management skips levels to micro manage engineers and push people away. * Everything is high priority - stretching the team thin.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. To start, I’m pleased to hear that you connect to our vision, which inspires and guides the work that we’re doing at Relativity. I’d like to address some of your concerns as well. While we are hiring more in our global offices than we have in previous years, we continue to grow our teams locally in Chicago, and the U.S. more broadly. Our intent is to align Relativity staff to our customers’ locations and provide 24/7 customer support. Irrespective of location, our commitment is to ensure all employees have the best possible experience and feel empowered to grow their own careers. We prioritize our people and are consistently working to ensure transparency, drive accountability, and improve upon processes. Over the last year, we have implemented more robust management trainings to strengthen management skills at the mid- and senior levels. I, along with our entire Executive Team, recognize the critical importance of strong people leaders to help develop and grow our talent. This year, we launched a new Leadership Framework and have introduced curated learning experiences that go deep into skill development and build lasting leadership habits. The goal here is to equip each of our leaders with a set of leadership tools to ensure every person knows what they are accountable for, how they are measuring against it and how they can grow their career. We also know from our internal employee engagement survey that we have opportunities to streamline our engineering processes, and we are conducting an analysis to address process pain points in the coming months. We believe in a culture of continuous feedback, and we encourage employees to speak openly and honestly with their managers. I also invite and strongly encourage you to reach out to me or our CHRO Beth Clutterbuck to schedule a one-on-one conversation to discuss both the challenges with management and how we can work together to ensure that you can map out your desired career path. – Keith Carlson, CTO at Relativity
