Pros

Really sharp people here who are great to learn from, not often you find yourself feeling stagnant. Also just great people overall who are easy to get along with. Makes it a positive work environment. Innovative product and company is on a good stable growth path. Above average benefits and pay compared to rest of market

Cons

You are busy every day. For some people this isn't a con and it is actually a pro and the reason you work at ReliaQuest. I can see how this isn't for everyone though and it may be the reason it doesn't work out for some employees. Leadership can be a bit intense. But luckily good teams to lean on.

Decent Starting Point for a Cybersecurity Career

Pros

One of the few advantages of working at this company is gaining experience in an MSSP environment, which can help you get your foot in the door. You'll also receive training on various software, SIEMs, and EDRs. However, the workplace culture leaves a lot to be desired.

Cons

The company offers low pay, poor management, and a severe lack of diversity in both race and gender. It operates like an exclusive "good ol' boys club," where promotions are often based on personal connections rather than merit. Despite increasing demands for productivity, they are unwilling to fairly compensate employees for their efforts. Management’s communication with lower-level employees is inconsistent, creating confusion and frustration. Additionally, the company recently changed its pay structure, resulting in lower wages even after promotions. Advancing within the organization is extremely difficult, with many highly qualified individuals being repeatedly overlooked simply because they weren’t favored by management. Talented employees frequently leave due to the toxic work environment, which feels anything but safe. I've personally witnessed a manager blatantly ignore a shift lead mid-conversation and heard them openly admit to using intimidation tactics. The company also has a referral program; however, it is not applied fairly. Many employees have referred highly qualified candidates, including veterans with extensive industry-specific training, only to have them overlooked simply because they were referred by individuals deemed unfavorable by management. Meanwhile, referrals from select individuals are prioritized without question, further reinforcing the culture of favoritism and bias. To make matters worse, the company actively encourages current employees to submit overly positive reviews in an attempt to overshadow the honest, negative feedback from former employees. This practice feels disingenuous and manipulative, further damaging trust in the organization and preventing meaningful improvements from taking place. Concerns raised in exit interviews are routinely ignored, and their dismissive slogan, "no show dogs," speaks volumes about the culture. The stress of working here was overwhelming, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
