Overall job/job quality totally depends on your team/director
Pros
A good mix of independence and working with a team; I’ve always had some “room” to make decisions about what duties I do in what order Also a good mix of an office job with some physical work/a lot of walking Learned unique tasks like basic mechanical skills and filling oxygen tanks on the job Quite fun with the right people Rarely bored
Cons
If chemistry within the team sours you’re screwed as everyone is in a higher position than you. If a therapist wants to treat you like their PA there’s little to stop them, depends on your director. This is a position I’ve gotten “scapegoated” in sometimes. Somewhat unpredictable in terms of busyness and what patients/family members will be like Being the contact person between a lot of people can become high-pressure
