Pros

Remote is growing and with the company all the employees have the opportunity to develop in our roles at a pace that is both exciting and challenging. I have been with the company for two years and promoted twice. I am happy with the level of trust, the people and the company values that provide a clear guideline to standout.

Cons

As other startups the company is changing at a pace that can be overwhelming.

Pros

Good Perks and Benefits Nice Hardware

Cons

Bad Management style Worst decision-makers They do not know what to do in certain countries, they have no idea about legalities. Middle management is the worst, I have faced literally 3 manager change in 10 months.

Pros

Fully Remote (no actual offices) Async work (for everyone besides the CX department) VR headset upon joining Office stipend to buy yourself a new desk/chair

Cons

THERE IS NO ACTUAL CAREER GROWTH IF YOU ARE A UHM AT REMOTE. The managers and higher-ups do not care how much experience you have, how fast and quick to learn you are, and if you do all of your work above and beyond. In order to ever get a different job in this department, or even at this company, you have to know someone who knows someone or someone who likes you who is a higher up. The 1:1s are pointless because there is no ACTUAL career growth. You are gas light at EVERY corner to take on more work, but get no actual career growth or other compensation. Then, when you try to use your experience to move to another department, that department tells you that you’re looking for someone with more experience (even though UHMs are called to "wear all types of different hats." Also, UHMs are basically tracked with the tools used to track metrics, so you do feel pressured to stay at your desk and take on more work. Final note: Go somewhere else where there’s actual opportunity and respect.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate any chance for feedback to help us do better. We understand that career development within our organization is extremely important to you, and it is important to us as well. As a startup, the company’s growth translates to opportunity for everyone within the company, now and in the future. There are a number of examples of User Happiness Managers who have moved up within the team as well as to other teams including Onboarding, Mobility, Lifecycle, and now Payroll. We encourage you to speak with your manager about your concerns and to check out our career path guide for your team, as well as the career transition guidebook, and other resources on career development available from the People team. If you are not comfortable speaking directly with your manager, you can also use the Remote platform to share anonymous employee feedback. We want our team members at Remote to understand that part of career progress is creating their own path, how each of us define our career journey and progression may look different. Everyone is in charge of their own growth and careers at Remote and your manager is here to partner with you on that.
