Pros

Working from home. Good amount of PTO.

Cons

Horrible upper management. Inconsistent and low pay. More and more duties and knowledge base necessary while cutting department to its bones.

Pros

Collaborative and knowledgeable support team. Fully remote. Opportunity to work with school systems and complex data scenarios within an EdTech environment. Exposure to real-world customer challenges and cross-functional collaboration.

Cons

Communication from leadership was often inconsistent, particularly during periods of organizational change. Performance expectations were not always clearly defined or aligned across teams, which created confusion in day-to-day responsibilities. There were also instances where leadership communication did not consistently reflect a respectful or constructive tone toward frontline staff, requiring reinforcement of expectations around professional communication. Additionally, the role evolved significantly from what was initially presented during the hiring process. The day-to-day responsibilities and workload expectations did not fully align with how the position was described, which made it difficult to maintain clarity around long-term growth and success in the role. Layoffs were ultimately attributed to performance, despite broader structural and operational challenges, which impacted morale and trust across the team.

Pros

Unfortunately, there is nothing. This company was by far the worst I have ever worked for, with over 25 years of sales experience across huge multi-billion-dollar companies. Just avoid the trouble here.

Cons

Renaissance Learning was one of the most frustrating companies I’ve ever worked for. Management was extremely critical but rarely provided clear direction or support on how to improve. Instead of coaching or developing employees, feedback often felt harsh and unproductive. The culture also felt very cliquey. If you didn’t fit into the existing social circles, it was difficult to feel included or supported. There was very little diversity across teams, and the overall environment often felt closed off rather than collaborative. Morale across the company was consistently low, and compensation did not reflect the expectations placed on employees. Layoffs were also handled poorly, with multiple instances of people being let go right before the holidays, which speaks volumes about leadership’s priorities. Overall, the experience left me feeling undervalued and unsupported. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a healthy, collaborative workplace with strong leadership.
