In my opinion, Renaissance is not the company it once was. It has cycled through investors for years and lost pieces of itself with every exchange. Senior leadership no longer values veteran employees and is disconnected from the reality of the K12 market.
In my opinion, there is a lot of unqualified, undeserving and unfit middle management. Micromanagement is used because there is no trust. Favoritism is rampant and proper coaching is missing. Intimidation contaminates morale and creates a toxic work environment. Sales is bombarded with double- and triple-standards and picks up a lot of slack for other departments.
In my opinion, honesty and hard work are undervalued---explanations are considered excuses, actions are over-assessed, and genuine effort is deemed insufficient. Sales performance recognition is upside-down---do your best and someone else will take credit for it, or get all the respect if you are assigned an affluent territory.
In my opinion, applicant beware--underneath the facade of a mission to accelerate learning, you will find unethical policies, unrealistic goals and misguided priorities.
