Pros

Great benefits, friendly workplace, coffee bar, onsite catering and fitness room.

Cons

Lots of constant changes, no consistency, needs a good housecleaning on entry level management.

Pros

This used to be a great company with a great product. Nice people still work here.

Cons

The company has adopted new tooling that has only made the product worse. It's motto is that, "We're here for the teachers," but they're not. They're here for the Vulcan investors bottom line, but I don't think it's going to turn out that way. It's really sad. Plus the pay is lousy, unless you're on the leadersgip team. I'm looking for new employment.

Pros

The work Renaissance is doing around individualized instruction, student learning and and teacher support is incredible. The company truly is focused on education, student success and teacher success. I have not worked for a company where they take their mission more seriously. The knowledge that the work we do here is really focused on a greater good is seen throughout the organization.

Cons

The challenge Renaissance is facing is that there are many employees so deeply invested in the visionary mission, willing to go above and beyond every single day, that they seriously risk burning out and loosing great talent. Renaissance is definitely a hard charging, ground breaking organization focused on a single mission, however, at some point supporting the mission becomes more than some employees can survive. Many employees tolerate long hours, average pay, and go with large unused PTO, because they believe in the mission, Renaissance needs to figure out how to bring some balance.

Renaissance Learning Response

Thank you very much for writing this thoughtful review of Renaissance. I appreciate your comments about the organization’s purpose and how we manage the workload. As managers and leaders, I believe one of the most important things we can do for our team members is help prioritize and, as much as possible, balance their workload. I think it can be helpful for you to talk with your manager to ensure you are aligned on team priorities and goals, and I would be very happy to chat as well – call me any time. Thanks again for your feedback. — Daniel Hamburger, CEO
