The company previously had a forward-thinking, global approach to people practices. There are still some talented and committed individuals across the organization.

Recent changes in CHRO and senior HR leadership have led to a major cultural regression. Outdated, HR management is replacing what was becoming a modern, inclusive HR strategy. New HR leadership appears to primarily understand and prioritize the US/Japan context, with little additional global perspective. Flexibility is inconsistently applied—those at the top enjoy it, but it's not extended equitably across the organization. High executive turnover is causing instability and uncertainty throughout the company. The corporate strategy lacks depth and changes frequently, creating confusion and undermining confidence. Frequent headcount reduction. Progress toward globalizing and modernizing HR practices is now in reverse.
