Pros

I gained another family working at Rent One. We work together and fix our eyes on a greater purpose. We don’t simply sell stuff and collect payments. We serve our customer, provide a goodnight sleep, clean clothes, cold milk, etc., and our customers experience ownership!

Cons

Any con to working somewhere should simply provide an opportunity. As I think of complaints I’ve heard, I think of our program and values. Having said that I think it’s a challenge making sure every employee believes in our program and passionately explains it to each and every customer.

Don't give them another thought

Pros

I loved my customers. The hours weren't bad when I actually got my day off that week but look forward to working 6 days a week and 830 to 730 on Mondays and Fridays if you are not hitting numbers.

Cons

Long hours, lack of training when you ask for it, they rather fire you than give you training. There is no benefit to being a manager here, you don't get holiday pay, you don't get vacation for a year and you get so much stress. They will cut your pay if you aren't hitting numbers as well. Higher ups can't agree on anything, except cutting your pay. They will over ship merchandise to your store then blame you for having a ton of merchandise (in which they buy they ugliest things). Don't expect an award unless you are related to the owner. The owner, Larry Carrico, only wants yes people. DO NOT TRY TO OFFER HIM A DIFFERENT WAY OF DOING THINGS. It will only put a target on your back. HR is useless when needing to get rid of an employee or trying to file a complaint. And keep in mind every phone call you make to them is recorded and the owner is probably listening to it. There is no way to go after customers who don't pay so expect to be stolen from alot. They don't file charges, replevins, or any type of civil action. All a customer needs is 4 references who can vouch for them to get something and a week later when they are due the same references can ask you to not call them and you have to stop.
