Pros

As I read through the feedback of fellow Republic employees, I'm not surprised by the negative comments. Having a positive attitude makes an enormous difference. This is not the most "glamorous" company but I have enjoyed working here. PROS: - Recession proof industry. - New opportunities for growth/sales (ie recycling services) - Great learning experience. It's easy to move up in this industry because it's very niche so your experience becomes valuable if you decide to stay.

Cons

CONS: - Limited holidays time off - No 401k match for Year 1 - No tuition reimbursement or assistance - Lack of cohesiveness within departments. ALL depts need to work together in order to succeed. From the sales team to data entry to billing to dispatch to operations to maintenance, and especially to the drivers.

Pros

Benefits are decent but not the better compared to other companies Flexible Schedule and it is hard to name any other pros.

Cons

Very poor commission and bonus structure. Unrealistc cold calling expectations and goals based off "on let's just pick a number". Outdated Sales Management Software. Company does not promote within. Low morale among employees. No incentive to keep you motivated. Not user friendly billling system with unlimited billing errors. Arrogant, condescending upper level management with no soft skill whom do not know how to lead employees. Disrespect to employees. Little to no communication in all Divisions- all Departments. Sales Managers that lack of selling skills, and afraid to get in the field and knock on some doors; when they do ride along with a rep. is to only to shadow the rep. providing no assistance and unable to make decisitions rigth in there in front of the customer. Takes an "act of congress" to get anything done, or resolve. Poor sales training. Hands on job almost immediately and additional training may take days, weeks to get, no one seem to have answers to your questions, but you're expected to bring in results from day one. Pressure from management to achieve un-realistic goals based of guessed numbers not allowing you to build customer relation, follow up, and concentrate in selling. Micro-managment. Unorganized processes Company overall lacks a sense of urgency to customer and or employees needs. No problem solving within timely manner. Highest market pricing, Company has a bad name among businesses in Houston area which makes it almost impossible to hit your goal not to say that if you add all that required from you- cold calling, lead generation, prospecting, phone blocking, appointments, daily data input, paperwork processing, etc., etc., etc. there is not enough time in the day/week to complete your tasks, much less, quality time to spend prospecting and build customer relation, not enough time fo follow up, and finally make the sell everyone is waiting for except the rep that sold it because after all the hard work, aches, the pay out does not justify all the stress, time, effort that you put into it. OVERALL this company is very CONSISTENT in lacking of communication; very poor processes that change day-to-day; being disrespectul, and careless about customers and employees; extremely poor leadership; micromanagement; I also want to make it clear, this comment represents everything that I've seem and experienced within this organization.

Pros

Good reimbursement for using your own vehicle (To start, then drops). . When you are new they take care of you.

Cons

After a year, doesnt matter if you are the best selling rep, you get to take the brunt of all the divisions problems. When you make a whistleblower, they end up firing you anyways.
