Factions of chaos and broken culture

Pros

Benefits, pay, the building is nice, but its a facade

Cons

There are 3 crowds at ResMed: The in crowd, the legacy VP's that protect each other and get away with breaking the law and Resmed protects them, and many don't do a very good job anyway, but thats the besides the point. The Halifax Club: The people that have come from Halifax and work for the President of SAAS, and you are protected because he can get anyone hired, and anyone fired, if you come from Halifax you can literally never get anything done, but are protected, and you don't ever have to meet a release date for software ever. The rest of us: Hard working and disposable, and treated like we don't count or matter. Grow up, and realize you have to change -- but I am not sure you can change, I am not sure you want to change, but as Jack Welch says, change on the inside or the end is near.

Duplicitous HR Takes Over

Pros

Good future, good goals, many good employees

Cons

Management & HR do not treat employees fairly. After a poor employee survey, managers asked what they could do better in open forums then called employees that gave feedback "whiners", put them on the lay-off list.

Thank you for your feedback and thank you for your positive comment in relation to our future as a company, our mission, and our many thousands of committed and talented people around the world. As an alumnus of ResMed, you will know we are incredibly committed to changing millions of patients’ lives with innovative products, services and solutions. To your comments about our human resources and our people management teams, I’d like to respond with this: we truly care about our people and take pride in the diversity and level of talent we have within our organization, when we hire folks, when they are developing in our teams, and as they move on to new endeavors. Our human resources business partners work incredibly hard to ensure our future remains great and that we understand our biggest differentiator is our culture, and the amazing talent of 6,000 people. We are evolving at ResMed as the world’s leading tech-driven medical device company and with that comes change, however there are two constants that will always remain at the center of our culture: respect for our people, and the desire and need for all our folks to provide direct, open and honest feedback. This is the true ResMed culture, which I will continue to drive daily (and I know that clearly we are not perfect, but no one on this planet is!) - without our culture, we would not be where we are today, or have the ability to get to where we are going - leading the field of out-of-hospital healthcare.

What happened to this great company?

Pros

Very progressive company with a tremendous business outlook financially. Beautiful facility with lots of amenities for employees such as an employee gym and café and ample parking in a covered garage. Experience can be great if you happen to work for one of the few "good" managers.

Cons

Experience can be great if you happen to work for one of the few "good" managers, otherwise not so great. They have people in senior positions with poor management skills. Lots of favoritism in promotions. Advancement opportunities are very limited. Work/Life balance is non existent. Not the "Awesome" company it was 10 years ago to work for.
