The company would rather spend a million dollars on an office that maybe 5 people go to a day than keep employees in Halifax. the office manager doesn’t even have to go to the office, that’s how little it is used. It’s all about showing they have money and wasting it. The culture used to be good, once everyone went to work from home, they lost their culture and caring about people. They consider their employees disposable but upper management has no idea that some of these employees are instrumental in the success. They aren’t boots on the ground management they are ivory tower type management.

Management is extremely political, toxic, and will micromanage you to death. Upper management wants to reduce redundant work but at any given time there are a minimum of three groups all competing to be seen as the ones who are innovating in an area. This leads to poor results, half baked solutions, and overall more inefficiencies. They are obsessed with setting overly aggressive timelines and management never asked engineers for their input before a deadline is set. Nobody is allowed to have a counter argument about anything. Only managements opinion matters, and questioning it results in punishment. Giving honest and clear status reports about a project that contain bad news will result in punishment. Over all if you wanna go to a place and never grow then this is the place for you. You’ll drown in mediocre bureaucrats and end up hating your life.
