Pros

The people there are really nice. Decent benefits(Paid vacation, 401k, Insurance)

Cons

Little room for growth due to such high turnover. The management lacks in so many areas, and will not hear any feedback unless it comes from a fellow manager. They spend 4 out of 5 days a week in meetings and can't figure out why nothing gets done and why their field service is overworked. They claim to have core values and beliefs yet they are not at work within management, the management does not communicate due to never there or putting out fires, then they come back and wonder why their stuff was not staged, why their core values are not in practice because people do not speak up for fear of involuntary termination. They operate on a disaster mentality, they have no hierarchical structure of who is responsible for what problem, because they are always so busy putting out fires, rather than laying down a foundation to build on. They are more concerned with pleasing the customer than the welfare of their employees. High turnover ratio. Saw more people go in a year and a half time and several had been there 10+ years Management has no people skills, but are sales oriented, not employee oriented.

Pros

I started working at RDS at age 14 as their second hire. I rode the school bus there and the boss drove me home. I was a know-nothing pipsqueak, but, regardless, I was treated as a valuable asset. The harder I worked, the more trust, pay and responsibility i was given. I started out making cables and emptying trash cans. I ended up building and acting as crux of their entire service/repair department. This wasn't a job where I just showed up to clock in, clock out and collect a paycheck. How depressing that would be. I was building a career and a name for myself and my hard work was consistently recognized which made me all the happier to work even harder. My manager and the company owner treated me with respect and trust. I was a part of a team, but I never felt like a nameless cog in a machine. My bosses really believed in the service they provide and did an amazing job at making every employee feel valued. The office culture is overall very cohesive and friendly. When you accomplish something notable, expect to hear about at the monthly meeting. When your mom dies, expect an outpouring of flowers and support. When you need a little understanding, expect to get it. I used my time at RDS as a stepping stone to my next job which I worked at for eight years. Then, I needed a job again and came right back to Retail Data. They embraced me with open arms and quickly found a role that matches my newfound expertise. This company has shaped who I am as an employee and as a person. I expect to start my own company one day and I know I will look to my time at RDS as an example of what to do correctly.

Cons

Starting salaries may not always align with industry standards, but you'll reap enough in job satisfaction and overall happiness to make up for it. Don't apply if you're looking for maximum dollars for minimum effort.

Pros

This place has been a great environment for me to learn and grow. I've made some great friends, and am never going to be certain if the environment I have now will be better at any future job. The thing I valued the most is the freedom to try to solve problems and take on different challenges; it requires a lot of work, and a lot of understanding from management to allow you to spend time learning.

Cons

No where to go once I've out grown my role. I've had the promise of management, but contingent on someone in the current management leaving. Even if I was to get some of the better jobs available here, I have decided they aren't my target ambitions to obtain going forward.
