Pros

The training program is essentially a supercharged college semester, focused entirely on developing one's technical and soft skills. In 10 weeks I've learned more than during my entire tenure at university. I graduated from college unsure of myself, and through Revature I've gained confidence in my technical prowess and professional. Colleges do their best to stay up-to-date, but often fall behind, especially in IT. Revature prides itself on teaching the most modern languages, frameworks, and tools currently in use in industry, giving you a serious edge over other entry-level candidates. At the end of the training, Revature also puts you in contact with legit companies for contracts, so you can immediately put your newly-honed skills to use and begin building up your resume (as well as making money)

Cons

Yes, it's intense. All day, every day, for 10 weeks, you will be baptized in fire. You will be taught new skills, and then subsequently be evaluated on your mastery of them. Constant interviews, quality control Q&A sessions, exams, and projects will strain your brain to the max. But in the end, it's #worth. When you find yourself effortlessly talking the talk at the end of the training, you'll be glad you endured.

Thanks for the great review. We love hearing from our employees and agree that our program is tough but gives you the skills you need to start a great career in technology. We also appreciate the comments about teaching soft skills and the confidence you gained while in the program. Congratulations, you are now one the best of the best!!!!

Pros

Learn how to read documentation Learn technologies that are being used in the industry

Cons

If you sign that contract there is absolutely no way to get out of it You are being charged almost $20k that are supposed to be for books and other resources, there was only a book which is probably worth $100 You are lucky if you get paid overtime Trainers are associates that might not have any real world experience Make you move across the country and pay minimum wage during training and half of the salary goes towards housing During training, you won't have free time and you might go without sleep for a couple of days

Pros

Revature (Or eIntern, its former name) has definitely helped me move forward with my career more quickly than expected. I came to Revature with very minimal work experience after not being able to land a job. While it took a bit longer than they promised (they say 6 weeks, but in reality it could take you a couple months to actually land a job with them), I now am in a comfortable position with promise for promotion and pay raises in the future. I am grateful to them for starting off my career with a bang. If you can't find a job, this place will find one for you.

Cons

- IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere. They might move you all over Gods green earth and sometimes having a family will exclude you from possible projects. A friend of mine had to wait over 6 months to be placed in a job at no fault of his own, just because he had a family and couldn't move often. He had to feed his family off $150 stipend the entire time and couldn't leave because of his contract. Ridiculous! REVATURE IS BEST FOR YOUNG PEOPLE NEW TO THE SOFTWARE FIELD. - Revature might send you to a client that moves you every 2 months or so. This happened to me at first and I ended up losing money. - Revature is a legitimate institution and did make my career, but sometimes their practices are sketchy. If they arn't contractually obligated to do something, chances are they won't do it. Make sure to get everything they say on paper.
