The Best startup for developers with little/no experience.
Pros
Pass or Fail. If you make it even half way through the program the quality of the teaching is so good, if you really put in the time to understand it, you will get a job somewhere. Teaching has to go down twice as a pro. A lot of agencies are happy to take you on take 20k of your annual salary just to place you, and really don't invest in you the way Revature does. For a single developer straight out of college, pure gold. I can't speak for the other instructors, but if you train in Tampa and you're in Trevin's batch, you made out well. He's good and really cares about his students. The staff as a whole is a pro. Where I was trained they're all for the most part friendly, approachable, and professional. The business culture has an inspiring feel. The work they're doing to help developers land jobs
Cons
Great as the training is, it's not a 'perfect' model for everyone. The company seems aware of it though and trying to adapt. I would NOT recommend Revature under the following circumstances: (These aren't even Cons so much as a word of caution.) 1.) You can't give it 150% of yourself. The extra 50% accounts for sleepless nights. Unless your already a rock star programmer, you will have them. 2.) Don't still be taking classes anywhere else. (see above) This is what happened to me. I thought I could balance a Masters program along with this. Big mistake, I burnt out on week 10 or so. Don't make that mistake, the further you go and don't make it, the more you will miss it, and be in a weird place. 3) Ideally for singles. If you're married, it can be hard to plan even a few days let alone 12+ weeks away your spouse or children. It's not impossible but it will be harder. 4) If your married, be financially prepared. You'll be making minimum wage. If your married with children. Have a nest egg, if you must go to Revature to launch your career. If your barely scraping by, you'll be buying lots of Ramen noodle. 5) You have a serious gaming addiction. This is silly but I've seen people actually wash out over this. Be prepared to devote at least 4 hours after work to reinforce the days material.
