      Pros

      Low barrier to entry Great staff, everyone is positive and welcoming Flexible and accommodating, willing to put in effort to support employee career growth

      Cons

      Internal software platforms are fragmented and brittle, were a source of undue stress Training materials hadn't been updated in at least 5 years, so current search engine results often aren't usable and modern library packages were sometimes incompatible (which led to some extremely frustrating moments)

      Pros

      Good way to gain skills and experience in the software engineering industry, especially if you were not a computer science major in college. Revature gets you interviews with software companies and helps you land jobs at those companies. The trainer for my “batch” was incredibly helpful and always willing to answer questions and help us out.

      Cons

      Mandatory 2 year contract for which you are required to pay $30,000+ if you break the contract. But they are very upfront about this from the beginning. Once you finish training and get hired by a client you start making the equivalent of $45,000 a year for the first year and $65,000 the second year. Though this is lower than a typical software engineer salary I still think it is decent in comparison to a lot of other non-software engineering jobs in general
