Pros

1. You can gain some experience in the finance domain. 2. There are few good developers. 3. Still good for your resume. 4. Stock options(but you can't sell them)

Cons

1. Toxic culture. 2. Fairly incompetent management. 3. Unpaid constant overtimes. The company, of course, is saying something like "we do not expect overtimes". 4. Broken, political based promotion process. 5. CTO with his "interesting" ideas about the system design. Moreover, he developed a trash framework and forces everyone to use it. He practices shaming of developers who have already left. 6. Low compensation(approx. 25% lower in comparison with the local market). 7. Limited tech stack - you will not be able to gain some technical experience. 8. Normally at Revolut management is treated as something more important than developers. 9. Managers force to leave a good review for the company on Glassdoor.

Pros

1. Revolut is in the process of scaling and scaling quickly, with that comes opportunities which are not normally afforded during the span of "standard career progression", e.g., working on projects to create a new bank, automating tasks, launching the product in new markets, etc. 2. You will encounter and work with some of the most engaged stakeholders, whether that is internally or externally on many varied topics. 3. The customer is at the heart of what the company does. 4. Flat working structure, this means you can openly approach any member of staff. 5. Self-reflection is part of the Revolut way, i.e., what could have been done differently to achieve a better outcome.

Cons

1. Revolut does not value emotional intelligence. 2. There are no females within senior management (London office). 3. At times KPIs are unrealistic. 4. Revolut tries to avoid workplace politics but in reality, it struggles with it, e.g., a set group within senior management sets the tone culturally. 5. Salaries and annual leave allowance should be improved, particularly as it scales to compete with bigger tech companies, not all employees are swayed by share options (or entitled to them). 6. Difficult to maintain a work-life balance and there is no real HR department.

Pros

Remote working Free metal plan

Cons

- A real eye-opener, and I'm sure Revoluters know precisely what it means - Tasks are not unmanageable; it's the people who are unbearable - People would expect you to check Slack every second and reply to them the next second as if their life depended on it. - When you're not responding at lightning speed, they would go to your LM and complain about you being the blocker. - Whether this makes your life harder depends on how your LM reacts to it, but if you had an LM like mine, you better check Slack every single second - Having an FM who is not from the same function and does not work with you. Not having the time for you to the point that the FM would claim credit for running the first 1:1 in your performance review on top of knowing nothing you've been doing.
