Some great colleagues, a declining business

Pros

Passionate people who care about helping others

Cons

Complete lack of credible leadership. Someone / the parent company was out for short term success, cutting costs with very little investment or value recognised of some very talented people - who invariably were exited from the business or left on their own accord. A complete decline in the business. Awful, awful technology platform billed as cutting edge but barely fit for purpose.

Laundry list of cons is as follows No commitment level at all. Spineless Management. Lack of right leaders. Dillusional way of operation. Lack of right expectation setting. Worst way of managing employees where your manager in the very first week of your employment tells you that he is not happy with your performance, isn't it too early to judge your resources.

Unfortunate Turn... The Good Old Days

Pros

This company used to be an amazing place to work. The highest quality staff attracting the highest quality candidates. Some of these high quality staff are still with the company. Work-life balance is quite good. They are flexible with requests for leave and time off. The paid time off is generous. The technology and span of service available to its clients is very good.

Cons

Many of the good employees have left. It is getting harder for RM to find as high quality staff as previously employed. Poor leadership. Only 3 people in the entire company could make decisions. There was no trust in the mid-management to make decisions. Whenever an idea was proposed, it took weeks to get to the top, and most likely got lost in translation as the managers fear the leadership team and do not stick up for their teams. There is zero accountability or autonomy for staff. Highly political. Depending on who you know in the company determines your lifespan there. A lot of the high quality staff leave as development opportunities are not equally or fairly distributed. Leadership are completely ignorant to cultural differences across the border. Corporate Canada is not run the same as Corporate America. Canadians are very different. Canadian staff are very different.
