Pros

Company benefits and compensation were outstanding. Good HR support system. Great career path planning and training availability. Safety is their first priority.

Cons

HR doesn't allow you to move fast enough to terminate an employee. Lack of communication from upper management stagnates some of the processes. SAP system is a nightmare. People only know their piece of the pie. Not one single source to go to in order to learn the system. They have become safety stupid instead of safety conscience...drives job costs way up.

Pros

Its a really collaborative environment. Compensation is comparable to competitors. bonuses are guaranteed. There seems to be a great work life balance for most employees maybe with the exception of those working directly in operations. There is lot

Cons

I have been extremely disappointed with senior managements response to the lows and highs in metal prices. Good senior management is capable of keeping a moderate path. However management has overreacted to high metal prices in 2008-2010 and hired too many people. In addition too much capitol was spent and risks with mergers and projects were taken that just didn't pan out. The current CEO is overreacting to low metal prices now. There are huge cuts in both capitol and people. In a couple of years I think the company will be in bad place due to todays reactive decisions.

Pros

None. May be being in Salt Lake City.

Cons

Everything. Long hours, no overtime, hypocritical safety standards. Minimum salary based on the logic that since they are based in Salt Lake, we are going to pay you less. Worst company I have ever worked for.
