Pros

Modern office, nice perks like free snacks and lunches, likely able to play video games for a substantial part of your work day instead of being productive

Cons

Training for non-red-badge employees is basically non-existent, whole subclass of full time employees without full time benefits listed as "contractors", likely to be paid under market rate, many hires completely unqualified and "learn on the job" how to do their work, team leaders often unknowledgeable about standard practices and knowledge of their positions and unqualified to instruct employees how to do their work, unqualified leaders and employees protected by nepotism.

Pros

* The product! Everyone here truly cares about their work and their customers. For such a large company its shocking how often Riot tries to do the right thing for their players and how much effort is put in to staying connected to players. * The work environment. It's a truly collaborative work environment for engineers. Teams share their goals, so there's vested interest from the rest of your team in every line of code you write- it's easy to get code reviews and feedback on your designs which is a great way to improve as an engineer. * The people. I love coming in to work every day and being surrounded by like-minded passionate people. * Compensation is fantastic for game-industry standards

Cons

* Poor code documentation & out-of-the-box solutions. Riot hasn't yet figured out how to write infra/platform-level code that works and can be reused by the rest of the company. Thankfully this is a problem that's been identified by the heads of the software engineering discipline and is one we're actively trying to fix. * Along the same lines of the first con, we haven't figured out yet how to be a multi-game studio. I think Riot in general is way too cautious about putting things out in front of players. * Career opportunities & advancement is very ambiguous
