Dysfunctional Leadership

Pros

Best reasons for employment at Riverside are the co-workers. Amazing people, most with tremendous focus and drive to accomplish the mission.

Cons

Dysfunctional leadership presents itself in very poor decisions, inability or no desire to listen to those doing the actual work, too many people dictating tasks or directions that often conflict, and strong disagreements between business units that adversely affect the work force. A non-profit being run as a for-profit.

Pros

Not for profit company, but still must answer to a Board

Cons

The good managers at high levels have left. Not many left to insulate technical employees from the nonsense and overreach of upper management. It shows in the earnings and litigation history. It's fine for gaining initial experience, but not for long-term.
