-The job of a federal contractor is to understand customer problems, and how to solve them. Riverside's management does not really understand the nature of the problems, or their solution. In a perfect world, management would speak with their technical staff, and figure out a way forward that is best for the Government and the company. At Riverside Research, management ignores technical staff recommendations. Management bases research decisions off their interpretation of some buzz words some business guy saw on a slide at some conference two years ago. It is not a way to run a technically-minded company. - No one in upper management has the follow through to fix any issues with the company. Instead, they sit around, collect their paycheck, and let problems remain unfixed. - The HR department is filled with people who cannot do their job, and blame you (as the employee) for not doing it! - The company has a very high turnover rate, and has a hard time hiring qualified individuals. This problem is largely driven by poor management, but if affects lower-level employees who have the skills, and therefore must pick up the slack. - The CEO is terrible, and he as gotten worse throughout the years. He cannot communicate his desires, nor can he make a logical decision.
