Pros

Some of the employees work very hard and want nothing but the betterment of Rivian. A few managers are actually good leaders. Lots of time to contemplate the decisions that led you to this point in your life, and ask yourself where you went wrong. The engineers are great people to work with.

Cons

Most employees don't do their job. The few managers worth keeping are overshadowed by the ones that want everything done their way, and do not care about stepping on someone else's toes. Constant downtime. Most of my 12 hour shifts consisted of 3 - 10 hours of our machines and robots being down every reason under the sun. Management then blames the team members for lack of production. I've never worked for a more disorganized company in my life. Far too many managers and not enough employees that actually care about their job.

Pros

The mission and product are truly inspiring. The environment can be engaging and exciting, and the work is fun at times.

Cons

Upper leadership and their unwillingness to be truthful about the status of things. No tangible goals and metrics which is very difficult to understand how you're doing without those in recruiting. Business units are extremely disjointed with messaging and collaboration lacking severely.

Rivian doesn't care about its employees

Pros

Rivian is deeply committed to keeping the world adventurous forever and customers happy.

Cons

From significant issues like poor leadership teams (ELT and LT-1), lack of long term strategy, and no improvement to work-life balance, to smaller things such as eliminating the EEAP program, I've become more confident that employees don't matter to Rivian.
