Pros

- Very interesting technology products - Good location in Silicon Valley although they are moving

Cons

- Very bureaucratic - Very conservative business culture with lots of respect for authority and little interest in change - Palo Alto office is not well funded and has questionable support from the home office - The company does most of it's US "innovation" in Detroit

Pros

Lots of responsibility is given to early career professionals that show aptitude and willingness to work many hours. This can lead to lots of opportunity and positions which may take longer to get in other companies. International experience with a lot of positions. High amount of financial discipline within the company. Good values and emphasis on quality products.

Cons

This German company believes it has figured out business and therefore proceeds to tell all other cultures the right way to do things with little explanation. Very little collaboration and employee feedback for decisions. Almost all meetings are made behind closed doors. Oftentimes there is a "Fire, point, uh oh" mentality where management makes quick decisions without understanding implications to the organization. German culture is generally autocratic, so there is a very top down management style which leads to a lot of overhead and decisions made by people who do not understand the implications of their decisions. Employees working outside Germany do not get any of the benefits that their German counterparts do including massive amounts of vacation, a work environment updated within the last 30 years, or investment in training. Almost the whole board of directors is German men in their 50's and 60's (Not a coincidence). There is also this weird "Grandfather Bosch" mentality which guides the company in an unusual way. The board of directors also is recognized by Alpha Numeric titles such as G1, G2, G43, which takes the level of relationship and personality away from top management.
