Pros

-smart group of people across the organization -great product -opportunity to grow professionally as the company scales up -good benefits/perks (free breakfast/lunch/dinner, health & wellness stipend, caltrain pass, flexible PTO, office yoga, etc.)

Cons

-need to invest in more manager training -We're growing quickly, and that's great but there's still a lot that we still need to figure out. An area we need to pay attention to is bringing in more strong leaders that can help bring structure to the teams as we grow

Pros

There's a large opportunity for individual growth and a lot of responsibility is placed on every engineer. Robinhood also has a great culture of celebrating and supporting open-source work, and supports all contributions (whether or not they directly pertain to Robinhood). There is also an academic side to Robinhood. Engineers are encouraged to continuously learn and develop their skills. All kinds of book clubs, paper readings, and discussions are facilitated internally. The hiring team has definitely found some of the smartest engineers, architects, and data scientists to build a sustainable platform from the ground up.

Cons

The company is still in its early stages, but each team has a long term focus. This puts a lot of responsibility on the individual until there are enough employees to cover all bases.

Pros

- Crazy gifs in all-hands slides - Awesome people and camaraderie. Incredible group of engineers, designers, mathematicians, scientists, brokers, etc all with incredibly varied (and impressive) experiences. - There is a certain adrenaline and excitement seeing so many people placing trades on your platform, often participating in the market for the first time, or investing in ways never possible before. - Also the product is badass.

Cons

- Unlike other startups at this stage, compliance is taken extremely seriously, and you are often reminded of this at work. Honestly it's not that bad, and it's a big part of robinhood's success, but you can't go tweeting stuff willy nilly.
