Pros

Lots of opportunity for problem solving.

Cons

Focus on Corporate needs, willing to pay for contractors but not current workers. Recent merger has increased IT needs significantly. Cant seem to follow a plan or groom current employees for future. Health Insurance is thru the system, CDHP - plus surcharges. Do to

Pros

A hospital is a place for healing and as such this hospital has many dedicated staff members who are the soul of the place.

Cons

The current crop of managers simply do not care about the mission of a hospital. They are callouss, pernicious and money driven.

Great People - But We Can Do Better

Pros

Lots of Vacation Time Great sick policy OK health/dental/eye plan Some highly intelligent and devoted staff Pension after 5 years Some tuition assistance (very limited - mostly intended for nursing staff)

Cons

No 401k Match (Seriously?) Raises are not tied to performance (Seriously?) Some years raises do not even meet the level of inflation (Seriously?) Segmentation leads to poor project execution and confusion Old technology Dependence on outside contractors You are micromanaged down to the level that you need to record every minute spent on any task (because upper management is so detached) Lower-than-average pay Low employee moral MD's are treated as royalty - not as coworkers. As such, they no longer accept the answer "No". Pinch penny's on raises to allot maximum dollars towards aggressive business growth (do not care about turnover?)
