Pros

Flexible hours, great benefits. Laid back atmosphere. Free gym and nice views of the east river.

Cons

No room for advancement. Support too many things to make productivity effective. Streamlining is like a 4 letter word. Pay is so so.

Pros

Excellent benefits, better pay than the average academic institution. Good starting point for any scientific career.

Cons

A bit difficult to get to being four avenues from the nearest subway stop. This salary combined with student loans (if you have them) makes finding affordable housing in range on the university a challenge.
