Pros

We have a lot of talent here and generally great co-workers. Good opportunities for co-ops and interns. Overall pay is good for the area. 401K benefits are good. Generous vacation if you stick around.

Cons

Like many companies, benefits are being reduced: more expensive health care plans, less holiday time, etc. Biggest issues are lack of on-site leadership; decision makers are slow to act or simply pass the buck; very UK centric so if an idea doesn't originate in Derby, good luck getting anywhere with it; mired in process to the extent that we make the US government look efficient; IT is laughable; HR is worse; workloads are immense for many; reluctance to fire inefficient workers or those who lack skill sets needed to do their current job; matching people to the skill sets needed for job is not HR's strong suit (come to think of it I'm not sure they have a strength); pay for certain areas of expertise is lower than industry standards.

Pros

The people you work with are good people. The products are amazing and something to be proud of. Work hard and you'll have job stability. Plenty of opportunities to move around geographically and in different fields.

Cons

You can have a good manager and that can make all of the difference but people are not a top priority to the overall company. People are not trusted, decisions are micro-managed, changes come slow due to multiple approvals needed. The company does not care about individual employees. At times it feels like there is an overall desire to hold folks back. Hard workers are overloaded with work and have disproportionate hours to low workers who often skate by to avoid conflict. Seems 'good ol' boy' and length of service trump (loyalty) experience and potential. HR outsourced and NOT human at times. They have a job to do (keep costs low) and they do it well.
