Pros

Indianapolis office is located in the heart of downtown. Open seating allows for quick meetings with colleagues and a chance to hide when approaching deadlines

Cons

Loss of vacation & holidays, loss of free coffee, no paid overtime but required to work more than 40 hours / week, forced out-sourcing for engineering

Pros

A large company with significant international presence. Opportunities to work in many different disciplines/functions. A fantastic brand name - which is a major reason why folks want to work with the company. Engineering excellence is a hallmark of the companies psyche. Not too much oversight (in general) as to whether you are doing the hours - more focus that you are achieving your objectives. However this very much depends on the particular manager that you report to. Some real interesting/characters work at RR so there is plenty of opportunities to interact with folks from various backgrounds.

Cons

Not the best pay/perks compared with others in the same space - but folks seem to remain there regardless. Leadership had, until the last 12 months, been great. Maybe due to financial pressures - resulting in panic measures - leadership has 'lost its way'. For new prospects wanting to join the company - I would advise that you must make your mark and take control of your destiny otherwise you will be sidelined. Workplace environment is mediocre at best. General apathy across the patch results in a relatively mundane/boring environment. It is the newcomers that want to generate 'excitement' - but become disappointed when the population remains complacent and happy with things the way they are.

Pros

Had a few key people that know what they are doing and keep the company a float. pay was decent. Shifts not bad.

Cons

Lack of leadership. Too many people don't know their job and work piles up on the people that do know what they are doing. Lots of back biting among coworkers. If you do know what your doing then the others complain to management about you. Others take credit for the work that you do. Too much jealousy (people thinking your going to get promoted or ahead cause problems). Huge Rumor Mill! Hostile work environment all the way around! Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This wont be the job you think it is....
