Pros

Some nice coworkers if you know who to trust.

Cons

CEO | Benefits | Lack of Hybrid Opportunities | High Turnover | Culture One of the company’s biggest challenges lies in the gap between its aspirational vision and its actual operational culture. While the CEO often speaks of innovation and disruption, the day-to-day reality reflects a more traditional, family-run business structure. This discrepancy creates confusion and inefficiency, particularly when leadership in key areas lacks the experience or preparation to execute effectively. The narrative of "we are a family" has, at times, contributed to a work culture that resists accountability and transparency. Critical processes like feedback cycles, project implementations, and strategic planning are often delayed or dismissed altogether, based on personal preferences rather than aligned objectives or data-driven decision-making. Despite the desire to stand apart with phrases like “we are not like other companies” or “we are not a Zoom company,” this mindset can become a barrier to growth. In practice, it has led to resistance to modernization, a misalignment with team needs, and missed opportunities to evolve the company into what it has the potential to become. A key step forward would be introducing a more structured governance model, such as a board of investors or external advisors, where ideas are validated through clear, strategic plans rather than personal whims. Additionally, placing qualified professionals with relevant experience in leadership roles would ensure that the necessary expertise guides each area of the company. Being part of the family should not be the sole qualifier for decision-making authority. There is undeniable talent and ambition here. With more objective leadership and a commitment to strategic planning, the company can move beyond its current limitations and truly begin to realize its vision.

Pros

Mostly everyone at Roma is really kind, welcoming, and awesome people! I loved getting to know the family behind the company and really enjoyed my time there. I would say I also had a lot of creative freedom, which was really good for my role!

Cons

I think any company you work for will have cons no matter who it is. No one is perfect! I don't have much to say outside of the regular stressors of a job. Honestly the only piece of feedback I would give is the benefits. They're not the BEST, and could be better!
