Pros

The coworkers you meet might be nice.

Cons

This is THE most unserious job I’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing in my entire life. Your hours will change on a dime and it doesn’t matter if there are customers coming in or not. For whatever godforsaken reason the Japanese will NOT do any advertising or commercials. They expect American people to conform to their cultures and rules. You will spend a long time explaining to customers all the advertising they are unwilling to do as well as the endless amount of ever changing rules. Expect to work 2-3 days a week. NEVER get comfortable working here because I promise you, this is NOT a job you can rely on. They will continue to hire people but for those who’ve already been working there for months tell them “we don’t have any hours to give, but we’re gonna go ahead and start hiring more people and keeping you at 2-3 days.” They will cut 100+ hours in your department month after month. You are not their top priority and they will show you that in their actions and lie to you in their words with false promises and hope. Every few months audits are conducted and management will start to make you work beyond the requirements you talked about during your interview. They act like teenagers throwing a party that needs to get cleaned up before the “parents” or in this case “corporate” comes. If your department does well and gets a high score instead of awarding you more hours they will award you a “pizza party” like you’re in grade school… They expect you to be willing and able to do whatever they ask as soon as they want it. I didn’t come here to be a janitor but all of a sudden I’m now a Janitor, Facilities cleaner, Food and Bev associate, a referee, and a babysitter all in one! But when we ask for a raise for the never ending expectations, they will keep your days and hours low regardless… Right now half of the managers want to go to the new store opening up but one thing they won’t tell you is that our department hours are shared. So expect the same managers and supervisors that don’t want to be there to cut into your work hours and take priority leaving you with minimal days for their own goals. Whatever you do go find another job. Save yourself the time and energy. This company is not worth it whatsoever.

Pros

Easy to obtain an entry-level job. Holiday 50% extra pay for hourly employees. Equal-opportunity, inclusive employer.

Cons

If you work at Round One, expect doing nothing except your job duties. Raising any concerns to the upper level will end up being ignored regardless you are an associate, manager, or low-level corporate employee. Promotion is considered by one person, which can lead to being bullied forever. Very high turn-around rate for associates, lack of training, difficult to work with co-workers. Corruptions regarding arcade game choices by the corporate. It is a well know fact that some corporate management favors certain arcade games, such as "Hungry Hungry Hippos" and "School of Ragnarok". Which lead to all stores were required to own those games. One of them breaks too often, and the other one rarely receives plays.
