This company was great for 4-5 years while I was there, but really struggling to hit inventory targets with the right mix

Pros

Was given a lot of "stretch opportunities" outside of my job description and pay band which I used to become qualified for a role in a new industry. The products are incredible and they do care about pets most.

Cons

Leadership is incredibly out of touch with the needs of the business in both people and technology. There is no clear path for promotion unless you want to become a people leader (which isn't for everyone) and the pay is very low. I had hoped to have been with the business for many years to come but got tired of running into brick walls with any and all innovation.

Pros

Culture is overall awesome and there is a nice emphasis on work/life balance as well as mental health from line managers. "Free" pet food (taxes taken out, but thats it) and decent outings when that can happen. Motivation is in the right place. Very inclusive of all people. Company really took care of us during the global pandemic and are helping out with the situation in Ukraine which really makes me feel like they care about their employees past the actual work we provide.

Cons

Company is growing too fast, and we are constantly playing catch up and putting out fires. Current processes in place dont have a lot of wiggle room, so if anything goes wrong... it cascades exponentially. Systems are old or for smaller businesses, and being replaced with systems that are just as bad... or if they even have potential they are implemented incorrectly or without thoroughly consulting what other projects are happening with other systems in other sites. All sites have different systems that dont talk to each other well. Data integrity is easily compromised with very slow fixes. Its very hard as a planner to make decisions when we are constantly being fed bad data... Lack of basic SOPs or change too often, and too many re-orgs too fast. There is sometimes contradictory direction given to different teams from senior leaders about yearly objectives/expectations that causes friction where there should be collaboration. Lots of meetings about making meetings without any actual progress being made (happening less than a year ago, but still relevant).
