      Good family life, slow career growth

      You can 1- Focus on your family 2- Get tuition remission for your further education 3- Enjoy Rutgers facilities (libraries, recreation centers, dining facilities) 4- Great place to work for women

      Cons

      1- Slow career growth 2- Existing staff does not want to adopt new ways of doing business 3- Pay is less than what you can get in corporate sector

      Pros

      Student Life department has a laid back atmosphere. Communication with bosses are easy and welcomed. Flexible schedule during the school year. Great exposure to a diverse group of students, great networking opportunities for employees.

      Cons

      Pay isn't great, but for the tasks that they have you doing in student life it's fair. Not much room for advancement.

      Pros

      Professional staff and all the associate directors take their time to coach and mentor their students. lots of opportunity for growth and learning new things. makes college more than just class, rather a learning experience. Most of what I "got out" of college was from the Dept of Student Life
