A great firm to work for

Pros

•New hire training is always in depth and relative to what you will be doing. •Our flexibility is something you don't see at other firms (it is referred to as myRyan). AMAZING! Focus is on results and not the number of hours you spend in your chair. Be forewarned, you are held accountable. As they say in the firm, “In exchange for incredible flexibility and freedom, comes the responsibility and accountability for producing results.” •Ryan is held in very high esteem in the tax community, and it is well deserved. You will hear this from many clients and other you know in tax that want to work here. •The CEO has drive like you have never seen before. He is steering this ship towards total tax domination!

Cons

•Hours can be long during busy season(s) (welcome to tax/accounting). •There are still some people in Sr. Management who are not on board with myRyan, while they are a small group of people in the firm...they still exist. •Someday, I would like to see a re-work of the bonus allocation philosophy. I think there is a better way to incentivize those that work hard and not those who are just "along for the ride".

Pros

I've been doing software development for the last 25+ years and Ryan is the best company I have ever worked for. The model of myRyan is completely innovative - having flexible work environment (where everyone focuses on results, not hours) really does make a difference; this approach holds you accountable for achieving goals, but allows for a great work-life balance. As software developers, we are encouraged to keep up with the latest and greatest (having unlimited access to Pluralsight helps a lot)

Cons

So far everything about Ryan has been great; the company is working very hard in order to keep us happy (just google "ryan the best workplace" and you'll be impressed)

Pros

Ryan does a great job of incentivizing employee's in a significant number of practice areas with bonuses directly calculated from client/project savings. i.e. Greater Success = Larger Income!

Cons

Human Resources Recruiting Department is lack-luster.
