Pros

I love the myRyan flexible work environment. It's exciting to be a part of a company that is growing and makes a lot of great business decisions. The transparency of the financials at the company meetings is something I always look forward to.

Cons

Sometimes the my Ryan policy feels like you don't have the camaraderie of coworkers, because people won't spend time in the office. Although this is truly dependent on where you work. I don't think this should be changed, but I think more team events or even office events would be ideal. Especially when you are working for remote teams. The compensation can be below market rates depending on the practice you are in. You are valued strictly based on how much revenue bring to the firm. I just think the value one brings should be looked at more carefully.

It's People First Here, Honestly

Pros

This company recognizes that its people are important to their success. They are continually working to ensure they provide the best benefits in the industry including healthcare and 401k as well as a flexible work/life balance work day. In an industry that is nearly stagnant this company is dynamic and is constantly evolving to grow its business. That growth comes with ample opportunities. Senior management refuses to rely on old, tired processes and takes feedback from all levels to ensure they are constantly adapting and ahead of the curve. Year over year growth and a desire to dominate the tax market sets them apart from all other firms, nationally as well as globally. And we are global. Come for the work but stay because you are treated fairly but more importantly you are treated as if you are a client because the firm doesn't exist without its staff and leadership understands this.

Cons

I believe this industry gave birth to the style know as "business casual" and unlike the pager it refuses to go away. This company still fosters a business casual dress code and for me it's their biggest Con. The dress policy does not reflect the dynamic culture, goals, and philosophy this company believes in. It's probably the older generation (no offense) having trouble adopting the idea that jeans are okay in a work environment. I'm sure they will SOON come around.

The things I love and hate about Ryan LLC

Pros

Ryan LLC has been one of the most interesting places I've ever worked at. The culture is unique, the people are wonderful and the environment is encouraging. I love My Ryan. Having the flexibility to work when you want and where you want makes balancing work and life very easy. I love working here and I enjoy working in a group filled with not only intelligent individuals but also individuals that want to see me succeed.

Cons

What I absolute hate about this firm would have to be compensation. Coming straight out of college into my first full time job, I didn't think I had the leverage to negotiate my salary however if I could go back and do so, I would. I think I'm undervalued in terms of what I'm being paid. Ryan competes with big four yet does not compensate like big four. How does the firm expect to retain the talent that it grows if it is unwilling to pay us fairly? If I was making what I'd make at a big four firm, this job would be perfect and I'd never want to leave.
