10hr shift 4 on 3 off

Cons

Manager had no power in getting a raise approved. Had to go through his boss who made a bigger bonus the less he spent on the shop. Supervisor had no clue on how to perform the work he handed out. Holiday pay was making you take an extra day off to keep from paying it. Etc. Hired guys off the street at T3 who couldn’t even do the T2 work without help or rework

relaxed environment and nice coworkers.

Cons

Weak and disorganized internal support teams. As an account executive in the Freight Brokerage, the job is to bring in new business. However, using a "cradle to grave" model, you are actually responsible for account management, carrier procurement, outside sales, inside sales, SMC, customer service, accountant, and you are on call 24/7 to solve problems. all for $40K a year plus commission. Overtime is half-time pay, but every month workload increases. Eventually you just don't have time to satisfy the job requirements without experiencing diminishing returns. A new hire fresh out of training, will unwittingly replace you. Makes sense from an E-level. Fix up an outdated house by injecting some money into it, rapidly expand the workforce, track the metrics, and then put the company up for sale.
