Pros

Ryerson fosters a challenging and thought-provoking environment that makes every day different from the last. Employees are urged and rewarded for thinking outside the box. Ryerson provides its employees the flexibility to map out their own multi-functional career path for the 5, 10, 15+ year horizon. Excellent work/life balance.

Cons

The company operates in the metals space, so when there are adverse conditions in broader industry, it can create inherent headwinds for Ryerson and its employees.

Pros

There are many opportunities for those that excel in the current position and willing to take on new challenges. It is a dynamic and fast paced environment that focuses on safety, employee development, and growth.

Cons

I have worked for many companies during my career, each with their own opportunities for improvement. Ryerson has continued to improve employee benefits, safety, training, opening advancement beyond traditional regional borders. The transformation has left many unable to change with the times and left them unsatisfied, however I believe the overall plan has begun to proven to be the right decision.

Pros

- Competitve salary and benefits - Excellent work/life balance - Ryerson Academy training program is intense and enable high performers to be recognized and developed - Opportunity to advance high, especially if relocation is an option - Takes new graduates with minimal experience and develops them into proficient employees

Cons

Must be able to adapt to constant change while maintaining high level of performance. Must be able to withstand negativity and push through those who do not want to change so that the company can reach its full potential in the metals market. Relocation is necessary for quick advancement if that is what you are looking for.
