Pros

The work on the ground is important (the programs team is doing their best).

Cons

The executive leadership team does not care about the well-being of staff. Compensation is not equitable for national staff.

Thank you for your feedback. Saga's compensation philosophy was created in 2022 in partnership with a consulting firm specializing in education and non-profit compensation. Team members informed our philosophy through focus groups and an advisory group (none of which were Executive Team members). We invested in our team members through the outcomes of that study in 2022. Our plan is to review our compensation against the market in the fall of 2024. We conduct an equity check each year to ensure that internal equity exists. We look forward to continuing to invest in our team members through our five-point total rewards structure (compensation, 401K match, Paid Time Off, Professional Development funding, and benefits contributions).

Thank you for your review. We're pleased to hear your time as a Math Tutor was fulfilling. While we understand the stipend instead of wages may be modest, Saga also pays 100% of benefits (medical, dental, & vision) for our tutors. There is also the opportunity to earn a Segal Ed Award by completing a service year. Thank you for your contributions to our organization.
