      Pros

      The ability to work from home, access to government benefits to offset the cost.

      Cons

      There is relatively a lot of organizational support however the stipend makes it difficult to cover most living expenses.

      Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your contribution to students and educational equity through your service year at Saga. AmeriCorps programs do not pay members a wage or salary. Completing a service year with Saga is compensated through a modest AmeriCorps living allowance or stipend throughout the designated service term. We strive to continue to educate our AmeriCorps members on the differences between a year of service and a full-time job.

      Decent work but low pay

      Pros

      Fulfilling spending time with students and being involved in school activities. Really was able to develop my teaching skills in this role.

      Cons

      Disorganized and the company's over-reliance on virtual fellows made the job 10x harder for in-person fellows and the students.

We are glad to hear that your experience with Saga has contributed to the growth and development of your teaching skills. Although not a salary, our AmeriCorps members receive a modest living stipend during their national service as tutors. We strive to continue to educate our AmeriCorps members on the benefits and differences between a year of service and a full-time job.
