There are some motivated people working here with good hearts. You are pushed to always do better.

Cons

not much room for disagreement with your boss, the site leader. For example, you are expected to follow certain protocols for lesson planning, in spite of your success using different methods.

Pros

-The job itself is fulfilling. -The recruiting is many comprised of current or former tutors so that ensures that persons who get hired are the right fit (for the students)and makes a great work environment. The fellow tutors are really awesome -Try to provide support in form of the site director (supervisor) -Upper leadership makes an effort to be accessible -Great opportunities for mobility in the company when you start off as a tutor. Also since most employees started off as tutors themselves, they are empathetic to the emotional and financial struggles that can come with being a tutor.

Cons

-The pay sucks. Its called a service year for a reason. -The job can take emotional tolls on you as you working with kids who are sometimes challenged academically, emotionally and behaviorally. -I find the work-life balance to be great -Your experience can vary greatly based on who your site director is.
