Good Mission but Not a Viable Long-term Job

Pros

Working with students is great. You really start to see a difference in the skills of your kids and get to know them over the course of the year. This job forces you to get really good at managing your time.

Cons

Tutors are underpaid. Because of funding that was lost last year, SAGA eliminated a bunch of positions and it falls to the SDs and tutors to pick up the slack and do extra tasks that there really aren't time for in the day. I end up doing lesson planning and other work at home, unpaid.
