      The best you can expect in a tough market space in a low margin business model

      Pros

      You can be the master of your own destiny, performance is rewarded and vice versa, I get to manage some of the smartest people i have ever met

      Cons

      Sometimes the corporate message is lost in the face of division level business realities, ie, corporate messages are many time meaningless at the line, corporate seems to forget that ~40% of employees work at the customer site and they do not have time for most of the training/communication opportunities dictated by corporate - and many security training requirements offer nothing in the face of customer required security measures

      Very technical jobs Interesting subject matter Feeling that what you're doing is important Challenging work environment Good relationships and communication with managerial staff Good salary and benefits Outstanding 401(k) Company information is easy to find

      Very large company Hard to change processes and procedures Complex time charging system Very few people like to share important information Can get lost in the shuffle

      Good pay - but a body shop

      Pros

      The comapny does very well in the DoD world and is able to land large contracts. Some contracts allow a person to get a decent pay as long as you ahave a high utilization rate. If are in one of the main facilities, you can get addtional training.

      Cons

      Once the contract is over - start looking else where. If you are in a smaller office, do not expect any addtioanl career advancement and training. Try to work on contracts where SAIC is the prime.
