Pros

Interesting and broad areas to find employment

Cons

Very conservative and hard to change old ways of processes, management communication not that well as you should be expecting from such a well-sized company

Pros

Employee ownership is still part of the corporate culture, entreprenuership is encouraged. There's a lot of communication from senior management and human resources. There are a number of ways to receive recognition and earn bonuses.

Cons

A lot of employees are farmed out as subcontractors to other companies, which results in employees getting lost in the system.

Pros

SAIC is a company that has interesting projects to work on. You have to work in one of the research groups and not the IT body shops. But if you get in a research group the projects aren't earth shattering but they are interesting with some challenging aspects. The company is generally very stable.

Cons

SAIC is just another big company. It used to be employee owned and it was better. Now its a just a 40K+ employee defense contractor like Lockheed or Boeing. Red tape is thick. Management is slow moving.
