Pros

Hard working people in the factory and office that still care about the company. The employees are so passionate about making the company better. Employees try hard to do whatever it takes because they have hope the family will come to their senses about the radical changes they have made and continue to make. Compensation is average if you know the right people and work in the right department.

Cons

The owner and his leadership team "Only associate"with the higher level office people. They barely come out of their ivory towers to associate with their teams or other hard working people executing all the changes that they think should work to save millions. When the owner and his team decide to talk to the employees, it is always a staged arrangement that appears very disingenuous. They pick the same employees to be their mascots during these staged appearances. The new leaders "Don't" have any people skills. They may be business savvy to save a dollar or two, but they are destroying the backbone of the company. The negative effects on moral is going to take years to recouporate from and the owner does not even see it! Or does not care! Again what made this company a great place to work for over a 100 Years is now lost! It's terrible and so sad that all this greatness has been destroyed. Employees can't figure out if the CEO does not see it or maybe doesn't even care. Leaders in this company are now mostly hired from publicly held companies where the cut throat Enron culture is ok. They have some how convinced the current CEO that he has spoiled, ungrateful employees that need to be happy they have a job. New Managers say to their teams that they should realize laying off employees to adjust the business and continuously readjusting is the way it is at "other" companies. We have lost so many people because of all the new blood in this company. The culture this company prided itself on was sustained by happy employees who loved the company . In the past the family company invested in every single employee from the Sr leadership to the person cleaning toilets. That is why working at this company was once awesome! That is why it stood out across the globe as one of the only companies that really cared about their people. That is no longer the culture. It has become just like any other company. The history you read about this company is gone. Recently they announced that they have to cut jobs to save money. They tell the employees who have to execute global work they can't travel. Yet the leadership teams are having large conferences in Disneyland and travel all over the globe during the same time they are telling people your job is eliminated so we can save money.that is a kick in the stomach! And a message to others remaining. We really don't care just shut up and do your work!

Pros

Good benefits, some great people

Cons

The company response to the associate manager who called out bullying in a review on this site I s disappointing. Bullying is putting it lightly; demeaning, yelling, horrible treatment by senior executives to other senior leaders (vp's, directors) is the expectation and it's ruined the culture and in turn the business results.

Pros

10% 401k (5% match + 5% "retirement") with a 3 year vesting period. Maternity/Paternity leave is excellent. Usually pays near market rates for starting salaries. Great people! Despite the cons, there are some really good people that work for SCJ.

Cons

Forced ranking and raises are usually in the 1-2% range. Slow moving and fails to execute, especially the IT department. Almost 5 years in and things talked about when I started are still nowhere near complete. Aggressive forced return to office during Covid crisis. Exceptions from people simply asking to be fully vaccinated before RTO denied. Work from home policy might as well not exist. This is a butt in seat culture and even though almost everyone worked from home for a year, the policy is 1 day per week if you are > 20mi away from the office. Fisk is busy diving for ocean plastics and photo ops instead of maintaining a world class org.
